"Lay Ministry Weekend is the Equipping step and equips the church to discover how God has shaped each beleiver for ministry. Using the acrostic SHAPE, this weekend teaches about Spiritual gifts, what God is continually saying to our Hearts, and how our Abilities, Personality, and Experiences have uniquely prepared us for specific ministries. It is here that many laypeople understand for the first time that they are just as called to ministry as their pastor. "

Dear Church Family,
Attached you will find a schedule for the Lay Ministry Weekend. We hope you have already made plans to attend each day as we promise you will truly be blessed. We have a place for the whole family! Also you will note we plan on having a Covered Dish Supper Saturday night and ask each family to bring a covered dish and desert (enough for your family). We are looking forward to this weekend and hope you will lift this weekend up in prayer each day until we begin.

March Training Sessions:

We are having two training sessions in March to prepare for the Lay Ministry Weekend. If you plan to attend either event, please confirm through the church office ASAP so that we can acquire the books needed and know how many will be attending.
March 14, 2010 4:00 to 6:00
Bob and Phyllis Foy will be conducting this event in reference to our Lay Ministry Weekend. This meeting is very important for the various preparation groups, as they will be providing information needed to fulfill your respective leadership roles. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
March 20, 2010 9:30-12:00
This event requires a workbook that will cost those attending $7.00 each. It is the "Uniquely You" seminar led by Chad Lingerfelt. We want to be sure to have enough workbooks, but we don't want to purchase a lot more than we need. We encourage you to attend this event as well.
