Prayers, Cards, Welcomes and Congratulations:

Prayer Warriors are always needed!!

How do I become a prayer warrior?
Some suggestions for a beginner (of any age):
  • Get a copy of your Sunday School Role & say (or write) a specific prayer for each person on the list.
  • Pray for each member in the armed service or on the mission field.  Pray that they will:
    • be protected from harm
    • have the comfort of God's presence
    • be granted the gifts of wisdom, discernment and good judgment
    • be brave and confident in the Lord
  • Pray for our new members.  Pray that they will continually grow and mature in their relationship with God.
  • Say a special prayer for joy for those with a birthday.
  • Say a prayer of joy, thanks, protection and guidance for those with special announcements.
  • Pray for the Preachers and the Deacons that they will be wise and true to the will of God.
  • Pray for the shut-ins that they may experience joy and contentment.  That their pain may be reduced.
  • Pray for the families that have experienced a death.
  • Pray for each person and family of those on the prayer concerns list.
  • Get a partner - hold each other accountable and encourage each other.
  • Select a mentor.  We have some really strong prayer warriors among us that are willing and eager to guide us, challenge us, check up on us and encourage us.
As a beginner, don't try to conquer the world by doing it all at once.  Choose a topic and start there and add others as you can.  Being a prayer warrior is not easy; it takes strength and endurance.  Like an athlete, to endure you must train yourself and build your strength.  Beware! Satan despises prayer and will distract you in any way he can.  This battle makes prayer a test of your spiritual maturity.

How to pray:
Remember ACTS (taken from ACTS in Prayer by E.W. Price Jr.)
A - Affirm God's presence / Adoration
C - Confess your sins (specifically)
T - Thanksgiving / Praise (personal & general)
S - Seeking for self / Seeking for others (this is where you do your asking)

If you write your prayer list and what you specifically prayed for, reread it in a month or so and see what God has done.
